#Documented Faith - My first project

This is my first Documented Faith project. The inspirational scripture was 1 Chronicles 16:11 -- Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always (1 Chronicles 16:11, NIV).  As I read the scripture, I noticed which is part of a song of praise David sang when he brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem.  As I searched for additional scriptures, I discovered that most of them were pieces of songs which is why I put musical note from  Casual Friday’s Heartbeats stamp set in the center of my page.

I discovered a scripture during my study of this theme from 1 Corinthians 1:25 that blessed me beyond measure and helped me regain some perspective surrounding the day's situations. It reads: For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

We get so puffed up with the day's events, with our own intellect and concept of self-importance that we stop allowing God to operate in our lives. We strive to judge when He tells us that He is the Judge. We seek to take vengeance when He has made it clear that vengeance is His to decide. We seek our own council and popular votes rather than find wisdom in His Word and His Way. Sadly, in this modern age our lawmakers even support the notion that God should have no presence at all in public places and public venues! Whose rights are being displaced here?

The way ahead appears bleak on the surface, but we must allow ourselves to receive God's strength and to stand firm and tall. 1 Corinthians 1:25 helped me regain a measure of confidence in the strength and wisdom of our Lord. Short-term losses will not overpower the long-term gains that Jesus Christ bought on the cross. He is wiser than wise, stronger than strong. How awesome is that?

As far as this project's rendering, I used Stazon Black solvent ink to stamp the image. My Volkswagon Beetle, a stamp from Stamp  On It designates days we were driving home from a scrapbooking show in Florida. I doodled my pages with a Faber-Castell medium point india ink pen and colored my backgrounds and flowers with the following Faber-Castell Big Stamping Brush Brush pens, also made of india ink: Pink Madder Lake, Deep Scarlet Red, Orange Glaze, May Green, Dark Chrome Yellow, Light Cobalt Turquoise, Cobalt Blue, Manganese Violet, and Cold Gray 3 (on the Volkswagon). I like these because the India Ink does not bleed through the onion skin paper in my 18-month Moleskine planner nor in my Bible. We have all these colors in stock at our online store at www.scrappigators.com. Just select the "Online Store" tab and you'll be able to see some of what we have. Oh! The 3-D butterfly is not part of the design. I just dropped it beside the title for a little accent.
